Bobby Byrd began his career in the brokerage industry in 1992 and joined Scott & Stringfellow in 1997. In prior years, he developed an investment division for a regional financial institution, was employed by a national investment advisory firm concentrating on fixed income investments and was a retirement plan consultant.
From 1985 to 1992, Bobby served in Executive Management and Regional Banking Director positions for a North Carolina-based financial services company. From 1974 to 1985, Bobby was employed as a Commercial Lender and City Executive for banks based in North Carolina.
As a Financial Advisor, Bobby is committed to building long-term relationships with his clients and their families based on mutual trust, respect and patience. His investment strategy for each client is customized based on a review of the client’s current investments, income tax and estate tax situation, objectives and risk tolerance. He believes investing relies primarily on diversification and disciplined allocation of assets.
He establishes portfolios with building blocks such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, life insurance, professional money managers, retirement planning and retirement plans. His experience with these diverse products allows him to design portfolios for any situation from aggressive growth to retirement income.
Bobby earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrated study in economics and finance from Western Carolina University in 1974. Post graduate studies include the North Carolina School of Banking at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he completed the Management and Advanced Management programs.
Bobby has earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ (AAMS®) as well as the Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist℠ (CRPS®) designations from the College for Financial Planning.
